Information
for New Students
Orientation
On your first day in the school all students have an orientation
session. Orientation session runs every Monday for English courses
two times a day 9am and 2 pm. It is compulsory for all students
to attend orientation. If students miss orientation session, they
have to join their program from next intake date. Students are
also required to bring their passports and one passport size picture.
Responsibilities associated with your visa
If you will be studying at the college as an Overseas Student
on a Student Visa you must note that there are very serious responsibilities
associated with this Visa. These conditions are determined by
DIAC (Department of Immigration And Citizenship)
Attendance
It is a condition of your Visa that you maintain good attendance
(minimum 80%) throughout your course. Should your attendance fall
below this level we are obliged to report you to DIAC which may
result in a cancellation of your Student Visa.
Working
As a holder of a Student Visa, you are not permitted to work until
after you have arrived at the College. Once you have arrived,
you can apply to immigration for permission to work. When this
permission is granted, you are allowed to work part time (up to
20 hours per week) provided this does not interfere with your
studies. If you breach this condition and are caught working in
excess of 20 hours, this may result in a cancellation of your
Student Visa.
